Detailed description of Red Hawk Golf Course

Red Hawk Golf Course, previously named Hunter's Point Golf Club, is a public 18-hole golf course located in Nampa, Idaho.

The course opened for play in 2009. The course was designed by Gene Bates. Hunter's Pont was closed in 2012 and reopened under new management and ownership in 2014.

From Hunter's Point elevated tees, you get beautiful views of Lake Lowell, the Owyhee Mountains, and the Boise Mountain Range. Large waste bunkers flank the landing areas. The water, delightful to look at, can be daunting to carry; and the greens roll true and fast, once you get on them.

Stretching to more than 7,000 yards from the back tees, this dramatic par 71 layout is highlighted by an 80 foot drop into "The Pit"for six of the holes on the back nine. The grassing plan includes Bentgrass Fairways, T1 Bentgrass greens and a Fescue/Rye rough. The bunkering strategy is vintage Bates style with a clean well-groomed lead-in with the back side of the bunkers displaying the wispy fescue grasses of the British Isles.

The newest course in the valley has a GREAT layout. Price can't be beat at $25 for play and cart. The fairways need some water as they are very HARD which gives the ball some great extra roll in summer.!! Still a very fun course to play. Has some very challenging holes.

Would travel: 30-60 Miles, Vacation Worthy
Bottom line: I would play again, Bargain priced based on quality and competitive area pricing
